2100 seeds/gram Start seed indoors 10-12 weeks before last frost date. Germination in 3 weeks at 21-24 C (70-75 F). Grow seedlings at 16C (60F). Transplant mid May to mid June. A fertile, well-drained soil with a pH of 6.5 to 7.0 is best. Set plants 15-20 cm (6-8") apart in rows 90 cm (36") apart. Blanche the stalks by gradually earthing up the stems, beginning when they are roughly 30 cm (12") high.
